Prepare for your class or treatment
For Your Reiki treatment, many people question what is appropriate to wear. The answer is whatever makes you most comfortable! We recommend light, breathable clothing that is also warm enough that you can adjust if necessary for any temperature shifts you experience during treatment. In a reiki treatment, there is no intimate physical contact, whether you shoose a hands on-or hands off treatment style. All intimate regions of the body should remain covered- and you will also have a blanket or sheet to use for your additional comfort. We recommend avoiding hard belts, large buckles, large uncomfortable seams or anything too tight or constricting- so that you can focus on your body's sensations and not on the metal digging into your back.
Are you a suspension yoga first-timer? No problem! This class is slow-paced which makes it easy and accessible to all levels, while still providing deep relaxation and all of the fascial and connective tissue-stretching benefits of a regular Yin Yoga class. With Yin Yoga, it's not about the shape your body makes in the pose, but about exploring the experience of being in your body, releasing tension and enjoying a deeper mind-body connection.
Suspension yoga using the YogiGym® suspension system is comfortable and supportive experience. We suggest you wear long pants, such as yoga pants or tights, that will stay put. Slippery fabrics such as silk and nylon might not be the best option- you want something that will not encourage slipping, so that you feel most secure. We also strongly suggest clothing that will help your movable bits stay secured for all genders- whether that's supportive or compression pants for the lower half, or a good sturdy sports bra for the top half of your body. Once you get used to the equipment, and your new relationship to gravity, you will be able to adjust to your comfort accordingly. We also suggest either covering or removing any piercings that could get in the way! If you have any questions or concerns - drop us a line!
